A local shop has one of these going for a real good price. What are they like to pedal up hill? I've read and heard that they had a few problems with the forks and shock too. There must be plenty of people out there that have tried or are riding one of these.

I had an SL comp a couple of years ago. Climbing was a breeze ( better than my 07 Stumpy Elite). The rear end was sublime. It's weak link was the fork which was too unreliable.

I gather reliability isn't a big issue now.

Was seriously considering a 09 one but the Pitch is half the price and I could build it up to my spec.

all the forks/shocks have a 5 year warranty, so no worries there

Yes they are gradually getting on top of the reliability, they're very good at sorting stuff and they have a 5 year warranty (which they'll transfer betwixt owners should you wish to sell it).

I think it was a 2year guarantee on the '07 and they brought in 5years in '08

I have an 07 Enduro Expert, which is just about 2 years old, and lived quite a hard life.
Rear shock replaced after about 6 months, due to a fault with the compress
ion damping, sorted within 3 days. Never had a problem with the forks, but I regularly give them a lubrication service.
To keep the 5 year warranty the rear shock/forks needs to be serviced by Spesh ,evey 12 months, which mine have.
So over nearly 2 years of hard use it has given me very little trouble, but lots of smiles.
