Great work Scaredy, all the Scottish CX are canned this winter. Gutted. Hadn’t done any racing for 6 years and was really looking forward to this season too.

At least you haven't got to potentially compete against Grumpy Cat this time. 😉

Good luck in the big chill and stay upright!

I was lucky enough to get two cx races in during October. I was joyous to see my racing buddies again and smash myself silly for 45 minutes. Reminded me why I race.

Which one - the NW Hope? I overlooked that it was still happening so didn't enter. Been ill so lost all my summer running fitness anyway 🙁

Have muddy fun.

Wessex - was great. Did pretty well considering - overtook quite a few in laps 1&2, then blew a bit lap 3 and only just held my place. "Charged" a tiny bit on lap 4 to hold off a determined chaser. I was lucky that there was quite a bit of technical-ish riding to get my breath and sometimes pull away a bit too (I've got incredible bike handling - I used to be a mountain-biker 🤣 ).

greasy mud and a lot of climbing takes it out of the legs more than following the TTT up those bloody hills in Harrogate.

Nice. I race Wessex league, but am on my last day of self isolation, so can't get out. I'm really bloody looking forward to riding tomorrow. Booked myself a 3hr "meeting" over lunch tomorrow.

AdamT - you're not in the old folks races are you ?

(The clanfield course was great - on a hillside mind, so lots of climbing & off-camber 180 turns too. They're hoping for at least one more on that site, possibly Jan)

I'm in the 40-50 category. I ride a ridiculously bright orange bike. I'll see if I can dig out a picture.

Had no idea there was a CX course in Clanfield, to the side of the Hinton Manor Lane cat4 climb I sometimes do https://www.strava.com/segments/25619054

nOtg - yes, course is pretty much exactly there (last field on the right before you hit the junction at top)

It's not been used before, though a local team trains there apparently
