Alutech Cycles eFanes e-MTB prototype spotted with Shimano BT-E8035 compatibility

by 3

German bike brand, Alutech Cycles, is entering the e-MTB market with a the Alutech eFanes e-MTB.
Alutech Cycles isn’t the most well-known bike manufacturer in this part of the world, but over in Germany and the rest of Europe, the company is regarded as a major player. What sets Alutech apart from other German brands is their commitment to non-carbon, gravity orientated bikes, that mix cutting edge technology with top-notch manufacturing processes.
Back in 2018, we met with Alutech founder, Jurgen Schlender, who showed us the company’s new NFC chip technology found on the Fanes, this year we’re expecting to see a fully built version of the Fanes e-MTB on display.

Jurgen has actually been teasing the development of the Alutech Fanes e-MTB for the past couple of months, first with images of an oversized downtube designed for an internal battery, and then over the weekend with the first ever image of the complete Fanes e-Bike.
The current, non-assist, variant of the Alutech Fanes is a 170mm travel, 27.5in wheeled bike designed to be a park/enduro race bike, built around modern but not extreme geometry. We assume that this e-MTB version of the Fanes will follow a similar formula as the prototype pictured here has a similar linkage and sloping top-tube.

We’re looking forward to seeing this at Eurobike.

At this stage of development, Alutech hasn’t revealed the official details of its first e-MTB, but it’s obvious from the photo that the frame is designed to use a Shimano STEPS motor system and that it will most likely use Shimano’s latest BT-E8035 internal battery.
We’re expecting more manufacturers to adopt Shimano’s latest internal battery solution and believe the next generation of Shimano STEPS e-Bikes could be some of the best looking we’ve seen so far.
