Cotic BFe Max 29er steel hardtail in Sunshine Yellow, size XL.

OVERVIEW

In superb condition throughout both cosmetically and mechanically. Frame in very good condition but please view photos to make your own judgement of my description. Protective film around cables so no cable rub. No dents, dings or big scratches, worst marks are around the NDS chainstay/dropout including a bit of heel rub that’ve been touched up. A couple of small chips/marks which were touched up as soon as they were noticed. Fork is perfect and recently lower-leg serviced. Wheels in great condition, recently rebuilt and evenly tensioned – no dents in rims, rear has a 5cm scuff on the NDS (in one of the photos). Hubs are perfect – be aware they’re non-Boost 15×100/12×142 using Boost adaptors to fit the 15×110 fork and 12×148 frame spacing. Dropper has no visible wear or scratches and just a small amount of wobble (which it’s had from new and isn’t noticeable when riding). Cassette/chain used for very few miles, same with the chainring. Cranks have a couple of small marks on them. Rear mech and shifter both perfect and relatively new. Brakes are superb: 4-piston up front and a 2-piston SLX rear (after the original 4-pot rear caliper had microleaks…). New rotors. Headset perfectly smooth as you’d expect from a Cane Creek Forty. Bar and stem are new/unused and are a lovely rise/shape and fairly light. Tyres in great condition and set up tubeless. New grips and saddle.

I bought this as a frame-only in June 2023 and hardly ridden it – too many bikes! I understand it to be a 2021 model. Mostly ridden gently when riding with the kids but also on a couple of proper MTB rides where it reminded me how good a hardtail can be. I’m a bit of a Cotic fan having owned 8+ frames over the years going back to an original Soul in 2005. I also ride a Cotic Cascade dropbar which suits my needs better, which is why the BFe has to go.
