‘Anytime’ – New Freeride Movie With Old Skool Vibes

by 2

Anytime, the latest Red Bull and Anthill production, is now available for viewing on Red Bull TV. For those that recall the ‘Down’ series, it’s got a bit of the old skool vibe to it – featured riders, a whole lot of riding, and not a huge amount of narrative. But add into the mix some modern technology and big budget production, and you get quite the spectacle.

It features five of the female riders who we’ll be seeing at Red Bull Rampage in just a few weeks, as well as a selection of Red Bull’s male riders. Members can read the interview with Kade Edwards that we recorded after the UK film premier at Dyfi Bike Park a couple of weeks ago.

Here’s the official PR:

Watch the brand new mountain bike film ‘ANYTIME’ exclusively on Red Bull TV

Produced by Red Bull Media House and Anthill FilmsANYTIME is a non-narrative, immersive film that reveals the athleticism and collective consciousness of the world’s best female and male freeride mountain bikers. Here’s what you need to know:

– From the vibrant environments of the Chilean Andes to the Swiss Alps, through the deserts and forests of North America, the film follows fifteen women and men from around the globe as they push the boundaries of freeride mountain biking and redefine what’s possible on two wheels. Experiential cinematography and MTB action seamlessly intertwine with moments of fear, fun, and fate.

– Hannah Bergemann, featured in the Big Water, Utah segment of the film, saw this project as an important moment in pushing forward the development of the women’s freeride scene. – “The women’s side of the sport has evolved so much, just in the last few years. We are sending massive lines in a series of events now. It’s been incredible to see women participating in huge events like Crankworx slopestyle and later this year we will be in Red Bull Rampage. We’ve also seen more of the participation of women in major films like ANYTIME which is amazing.”

– As the 18th edition of Red Bull Rampage takes place this October, a new chapter to its lore will be added by expanding the field with eight of the best female freeriders joining the men to make history in freeride mountain biking.

– ANYTIME features a selection of riders that are on the roster to join the inaugural women’s Red Bull Rampage line-up including Vaea Verbeeck, Robin Goomes, Cami Nogueira, Casey Brown and Vinny Armstrong.

– While ANYTIME takes the viewer on a journey across some of the most beautiful and challenging mountain biking terrains, some explored for the very first time, it also represents the beginning of a freeride movement.

– The overall progression of female freeriding in the sport – both with the strong representation of female riders in ANYTIME and this year’s historic moment at Red Bull Rampage means that the sport is entering a whole new era. As Hannah Bergemann puts it: “I feel like we will look back in a few years and it will seem like a pretty big chapter in the sport’s history just because it is sort of the first time that women are doing these things.”

ANYTIME is now available to watch exclusively on Red Bull TV.

The athletes featured in the film include Patricia Druwen, Lucy Van Eesteren, Vinny Armstrong, Harriet Burbidge-Smith, Brage Vestavik, Kade Edwards, Brett Rheeder, Thomas Genon, Hannah Bergemann, Robin Goomes, Vaea Verbeeck, Cami Nogueira, Emil Johansson, Carson Storch, and Casey Brown.

ANYTIME is presented by Shimano, with support from Maxxis, Arosa Lenzerheide’s Bike Kingdom and Evoc.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

The Down series!  Gee I loved those back in the day.  I still wish I could do big stair gaps like these movies feature.

Such bad music throughout all of them.  Would watch one again right now, but have a nasty earworm from just thinking about it.

That’s a heck of a watch… Personally i liked the music, it’s not what i’d listen to, but suited the vibe.

The riding from Brage and Kade was next level bonkers !!!
