Winter is well upon us, but just because the temperature is colder and the trails damper it doesn’t mean we should stop riding.

There is a great number of high-performance all-weather riding gear on the market and for this video and write up we’re going to focus on some highly functional and great looking kit from Troy Lee Designs.

Troy Lee Designs Swelter Glove

For cold winter days in the saddle, the Troy Lee Design Swelter glove is a must-have. This cycling-specific glove has been thoroughly researched and designed to offer the best balance of comfort and warmth and includes an array of features to make it one of the best winter gloves on the market.

A dual-layer perforated palm provides comfort on even the most challenging trails, and with finger and knuckle protection you needn’t worry if you did manage to come off.

To aid you on tricky terrain and to help maintain control of your bike, Troy Lee has added silicone grip to the palm and silicone printed fingertips.

And for social media and smartphone fans, you’ll be glad to know that you can post ride updates without needing to take the Swelter off thanks to the conductive material on the index finger and thumb.

Troy Lee offers the excellent Swelter glove in either black or charcoal colour options and there are 5 sizes to choose from, small, medium, large, XL and XXL.

Troy Lee Designs Resist Trouser

With your hands covered it’s time to keep your legs comfortable, and there is nothing better than a quality pair of waterproof trousers for winter trail riding.

The Troy Lee Designs Resist trouser is a lightweight and comfortable trouser with a tailored cut that offers a great fit and exceptional manoeuvrability while pulling shapes.

Made from a Bluesign certified 10k waterproof material and Teflon Eco Elite Finish, the Troy Lee Design Resist is designed to keep you dry in extreme wet weather riding conditions. The durable design features taped seams throughout and waterproof zips on the fly, both side pockets and on the rear pocket.

A reinforced seat panel ensures the Resists long life, while reflective TLD logos and a reflective shield on the chainstay side trouser leg keep you visible on those dark winter roads.

Troy Lee has created a comfortable and fashionable cut that leaves enough room for use with or without kneepads.

The Troy Lee Designs Resit trouser is available in black only and waist sizes from 30in to 40in, plus the micro-adjust ratchet strap allows for a perfect dial in fit.

Troy Lee Designs Descent Jacket

The Troy Lee Designs Descent is the jacket you want to be wearing in the harshest of environments. This all-condition trail jacket is made for heavy rain and wet weather riding.

The key to a great waterproof jacket is the correct material choice and Troy Lee has this covered with a 3 layer membrane and 10k waterproof outer shell. This soft-touch material maintains enough stretch and is completely breathable for comfort.

Built-in to the Descent jacket is a large, adjustable hood. Big enough to wear over a helmet, the hood keeps rain and wind at bay, while a 3-way drawcord keeps it in place on the trail.

The fashionable design looks great on or off the bike, but it’s on the trail where the full features come into their own. 2 zipped pockets are large enough to carry a phone, trail tool or wallet, while a drop tail hem keeps you covered from rear wheel-spray.

Like the Resist trouser, the Descent come with full taped seams and is easily adjustable for the perfect fit thanks to a waist adjustable cinch.

Troy Lee Designs Shuttle Jacket

The Troy Lee Designs Shuttle jacket is for those days when you want something to keep the chill off. This extremely lightweight jacket doesn’t take up much space if stored in a pack and the soft-touch material is feathery light when worn.

Made of a lightweight wind-resistant fabric, the Shuttle might be easy to store and carry, but it’s also exceptionally durable thanks to its Ripstop characteristics.

Troy Lee Designs has designed the Shuttle to keep the wind off while ensuring a well ventilated and airy feel. Vents under the arms and across the back ensure a cool air can easily circulate.

The rear of the Shuttle has a drop tail hem for added protection and the large lower back zipped pocket doubles as its own packable bag for easy storage. The Shuttle also features a mesh liner and elasticated cuffs.

Andi a couple things on the Resist trousers .What’s the waist fit and leg length like please ? The other thing I’m unsure about . I tried several makes topping out at the Madison DTEs at over a £100 even they failed in no time ( 6 weeks) to keep me dry . They were rated at 20K twice that of the TLDs so I wonder if they will be any better ?
