Available from today for £5200, Orange are releasing their Switch 6 team bike with new spec for 2022. A mix of wheels (29″ up front and 27.5″ rear) with 160mm of front suspension and 145mm rear. This is the Orange Factory version, here’s a look at the Switch 6 Team.
The press release reads:
The Build
With a unique package of custom-tuned components from our Factory Racing partners, this model builds on the performance platform of the MX switch 6 chassis.
The suspension is custom-tuned and developed from our shakedown and testing sessions in Italy, working directly with the Formula factory technicians. Formula suspension is infinitely tunable and features like the ingenious Neopos spacers and CTS (Compression Tuning System) quickly allow you to change the character of the suspension for any terrain.
It’s not just the suspension where Formula components shine, their powerful Cura 4 brakes, provide incredible feel and stopping power. E13 rims combined with Michelin Wild Enduro tyres provide a sure-footed feel and unparalleled grip. The finishing kit is no less impressive, featuring a cherry-picked selection from Burgtec and SDG.
If you want a race-ready package second to none, either for racing or just some seriously fast fun, the Switch 6 Team is unbeatable.
The Frame
The Switch 6 features all the frame updates that we’ve integrated into the latest line-up; Metric shock, 76° seat angle, 64° head angle, with a generous 485mm reach on a size large. With a reduced offset fork, this bike is clearly set up with the aggressive rider in mind.
Aimed at racers and fast trail riders, this genre of bike has become the hottest ticket around. Whether you call them a ‘Mullet’ or ‘MX’, the mixed size wheelset makes a massive amount of sense, but only if you apply the right geometry. The Switch 6 has its geometry tuned to put all the key frame elements in the right place, therefore the ride by design is what you would expect from an Orange.
