Please Support Ross! He’s been a little foolish…

So, this story probably should have been a little different., but anyway here it goes. This coming weekend, ad sales guy Ross is entered into the Manchester to Blackpool charity bike ride, raising money not only for a Christie’s, but also for a cause close to his (and his family’s) heart. You can read about the cause here.

A close family friend who worked as a bereavement councillor for St. Annes Hospice in Manchester was doing the ride to help raise much needed funds for the hospice. Unfortunately, Hazel died in a tragic accident back in February, so Ross and a group of his friends and family decided to enter the ride to continue to raise funds in her memory. So far so good.

Last weekend though, Ross unfortunately (or according to his partner – stupidly!) managed to have a bit of a crash on his local trails resulting in a smashed helmet, a trip to A&E, a severe whiplash and super sore neck, ribs and sternum, basically ruling himself out of this weekend’s ride, and making himself feel a bit of a dick. If one good thing comes from this though it’s the importance of a good helmet… despite doing the best to destroy his brain Ross didn’t have any concussion, head injuries, not even a headache! (For reference, Ross was wearing a Fox Speed Frame, so if any of you need a new helmet then it would be worth a look.)

Did its job.

This story was supposed to more of a ‘hey everyone I’m doing a ride for a really good cause so please support me’ but is now more of a ‘I’m GOING to to do a ride for a really good cause so please support me!’.

Ross’s partner, friends and family are all still doing ride and as soon as he’s healed Ross is going to do the ride (and a bit more!) so if any of you can spare some money to donate to a worthy cause then it would be much appreciated (and help alleviate Ross’s feeling of idiotness) – and Ross will update as soon as he’s healed and ready to ride.
