Únic Essential line cuts the cost of custom mountain bike kit but not the quality

by 1

Flamboyant Frenchman, Cedric Gracia, and the Únic team launch a new affordable way to get custom kit with the Únic Essential line.

Andorran clothing brand, Únic, launched a range of custom mountain bike clothing earlier in the year, and with the help of Cedric Gracia, has been supplying racers, privateers and customers with easy to customise kit for the past few months.

Now the brand has launched an even simpler gateway into the custom clothing market with the new Únic Essential range.

Únic has added new designs, or templates, to its range and split the 11 unique options into Essential and Signature series kit. Essential gear is aimed at the mountain biker who wants custom clothing and a one-off look but doesn’t want a hefty price tag, while Signature series kit comes with more features, a different cut and more customisation options for a slightly higher price.

The Essential Line includes 5 customisable designs.

The Únic Essential range consists of 5 options that include a mix of race-inspired designs and more casual options. Using the online editing system, customers can choose from a huge number of colours, add their name and country flat to the clothing and see the design in realtime as they create it.

Essential Kit is available in either long or short sleeve jerseys. Shorts feature zip pockets and a ratchet-style adjustment for a comfortable fit. A full custom kit costs €138.99 and that includes free worldwide shipping.

Riders wanting a few more custom options, more features and the choice of shorts or trousers can opt for the Signature series. There are 6 designs to choose from in the Signature range with costs starting from €198.01 or €10 more if you want trousers.

Riders designing Signature kit will be able to choose from Únipro or Mesh jersey materials, can add a ‘designed by’ name on the inside of the collar and for racers, teams and clubs there’s an option for adding logos too.

Únic Signature series offers more customisation choice and more features.

The higher price kit also has a few more useful mountain bike features too. The jersey has a hidden zip pocket in the seam large enough for a lift pass and there’s also a sewn-in microfibre cloth for cleaning glasses and goggles.

The shorts and trousers in the Signature range have 2 zip pockets, plus a clever neoprene internal phone pocket that prevents your phone from flapping about on the trail. The same ratchet waist adjustment is included plus silicone waistbands for added comfort.

We’ll have a full review of the Únic Signature series clothing online tomorrow, but in the meantime why not go and spends a few minutes creating your own kit over on the Únic website it’s actually pretty good fun.
