mystery new YT

Did YT just leak a new bike in their message about the Covid-19 lockdown?

YT Industries posted a video yesterday to stress the importance of following lockdown rules, but in the making of it, they’ve leaked a new YT model not yet on sale!

The Live Caged video from YT features YT’s founder, Markus Flossmann and CTO Chris Hilton, explaining to riders why it is important to follow local government guidelines. The message is if you can’t ride then don’t, instead exercise at home or maintain your bike and if you are allowed to ride do so carefully and don’t take any risks.

Obviously a very important message, but hang on! What’s that bike?

The bike we see Markus riding looks like nothing currently available in the YT stable, and actually looks like it might be a shorter travel XC style bike rather than the usual gravity focussed machines we see from the German brand.

There are no close-ups of the bike, but the brief moments we do see it, we can make out a short rear shock linkage and a rear shock that is mounted vertically rather than horizontally.

We don’t have any other information about the bike, but we do recommend that you follow YT’s advice. If you’re in a place that does not allow riding then please don’t and if you’re allowed, like we are in the UK, then please do so for fitness and don’t take any unnecessary risks.

And did we hear Chris mention a new YT Capra?
