Fresh Goods Friday 482 – Who wants to test bulletproof goggles?

by 17

We have waterproof, abrasion-proof, shockproof and even bulletproof products in this week’s edition of Fresh Goods Friday. Jump in and bath in xxxx-proof goodies.

Leatt Velocity Goggle

The Velocity goggle from Leatt comes in a huge range of strap designs and lens options, but you probably can’t get this combo as they’re limited edition. Still, they do feature the same cool features and Rose lens that is available.

Officially the lens used in the Velocity are tested to Military Ballistic Impact Standard (MIL-DTL-43511D) so they should give full eye protection from stones, rocks and other debris being thrown up on the trail.

The goggle features a self-draining frame design, dual-density frame for comfort and fit, an over the glasses fit, removable nose guard and a soft carry bag included.

While we won’t be testing the bulletproof claims we will be giving the anti-fog function a whirl.

Amazfit T-Rex Smartwatch

Amazfit T-Rex Smartwatch.

During CES this week, Amazfit launched its first rugged smartwatch with outdoor specific features that are pretty good for mountain bike use. The £105 smartwatch comes with a built-in heart rate monitor, GPS, 1.3in AMOLED display, and a huge number of useful smart features.

With built-in GPS the T-Rex can be used without a smartphone for mapping rides and monitoring speed, heart rate and more, and once synced to your phone the accompanying app can be set to update Strava too.

The rugged waterproof design is designed to military specifications, is waterproof and has tough Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect the display. We’ve already got the full review of the T-Rex here.

The OS strap is for carrying a tube, C02 cartridge and tire levers to keep you rolling when the trail takes out your tire. AMS makes each strap from a smooth material so that it won’t run and mark your frame, the design is universal AND it doesn’t way all that much either!
