Followers of the Downhill WC and EWS will already be familiar with the winning combination of Commencal frames and SRAM components, and if you’ve ever wondered if you could emulate the exploits of the Commencal Team if only you had a similar bike, well today your prayers have been answered!
Commencal Meta AM 29 Race SRAM Edition
The Commencal Meta AM 29 Race SRAM Edition is built around Commencal’s latest 29er Enduro frame, with cream of the crop SRAM components, and seasoned with a pinch of Commencal’s own brand Ride Alpha kit, Spank wheels and a Fabric saddle. Looks rather tasty to us.
The META AM 29 frameset is a similar beast to what we saw earlier in the year at Fort William. The proven EWS chassis runs on a 29er wheelset, with 170mm of front wheel travel and 160mm on the rear.
All the bouncy bits come from SRAM owned RockShox, including a Super Deluxe RCT rear shock, Reverb dropper post, and blood red Lyrik RC2 fork, the very same fork that Ross gave a glowing review of earlier this year.
SRAM’s Eagle 12 speed drivetrain is represented in GX form, with an SRAM Descendant Eagle 7K cranks and an Eagle 1230 11-50 12 speed cassette ensuring that the META 29 climbs as well as descends.
This limited edition SRAM Edition bike is painted in an off-white colour with red decals to match the flashy fork.
Commencal’s, buy direct model means that if you want one of these for yourself you’ll have to head over to the Commencal website and order one up, but be warned there are limited numbers and the bike is only available for Pre-order at the time of writing, with bikes expected to arrive in February.
The Commencal Meta AM 29 RACE SRAM Edition, isn’t the first special edition Commencal we’ve seen. At Fort William this year we also saw a British Edition Meta TR and before that the Andorran brand offered a BC edition bike too.
