5am is generally a pretty unpleasant time to have to wake up. Your body craves sleep – or at the very least, a dose of decent caffeine to jump-start it and get your brain doing anything more than just ticking over. It’s with some discontent that I roll over and switch the alarm off. By the time I’m up, showered, shaved and have packed my bags it’s closer to 6am – still pretty early by most people’s standards.
