Sudocrem Cat, We Salute You

by 5

It is a grey day here at Singletrack Towers, as we have heard of the sad passing of Pinga, perhaps better known as ‘Sudocrem Cat’.

Pinga had been at the warm and fuzzy heart of her family for nearly 18 years, and in the hearts and minds of Team Singletrack and Singletrack Forum regulars for three years. While Pinga’s talents as a loveable hairy house pet were well known to her family, she first came to wider public attention when the then toddler of the house applied a coating of Sudocrem to Pinga’s fur.

Pinga, as many of us will remember her.

What followed has become an all time great forum thread. While Pinga is no more, her spirit will live on in the joy that is brought to everyone who reads the thread. Pinga, we are grateful for all the happiness you brought us. May you catch many mice in that great mouse farm in the sky.

If you’ve not already visited, the Singletrack Forum is a place of much more than bikes, so why not pop over and have a look. In fact, it took one recent new user a while to realise it was a bike forum:

RIP Pinga.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
