Pinga, our lovely cat, protagonist in the sudocrem cat thread, has died. She was close on 18 years old and I think they were in the main happy ones.

We loved her.

So sorry to hear that. I'm sure she brought a lot of joy to your home - as well as mirth here. Thinking of you.

Sorry for your families loss, losing a family member is never easy ๐Ÿ™

However Pinga lives on in many people's minds, and brings a smile to many peoples faces who never met Pinga.

OP would you be happy to link to the original thread/be happy for some to link to it?

I hope Pinga knows how much she brightened the lives of so many. Not least by the extraordinary reflective nature of the Zinc Oxide in Sudocrem.

I am waving an imaginary emergency Union Jack in commemoration of a life devoted to others.

Sad news. She gave so much pleasure to so many.

Never mind the Terry Wigan tribute tonight on the telly. They should broadcast a reading of that thread.

In honour of such a legend of STW, we'd like to run an official story marking Pinga's passing and her great contribution to the entertainment and general slacking off at work of the workforce. Hope that's OK.

Aw, poor Pinga. ๐Ÿ™
Would it be wrong of me to suggest such a famous cat should be stuffed and mounted?

(hides in anticipation of much hissing, spitting and fur flying...)

It's a sad day when a family pet dies. But not many cats get to feature on the STW website.

I'm re-reading the original thread and laughing very loudly in the office so Pinga is still bringing laughter to our office.

Great that she was not only loved by your family, but by a whole load of people who'd never even met her!

RIP Pinga, a slow silent tear is descending my cheek as I type.

Would it be wrong to pass on Mrs Ambrose's suggestion that she is embalmed in Sudocreme. Probably. Sorry. Really sorry.

Thanks for the thoughts all (including Mrs Ambrose!). As ericemel said on the original, "this is why this is the best forum on the net. Comedy, help and friendliness all in the same place.".

As others here have already said, it must be almost unique that a family pet, unknown to anyone outside the family, has come to mean so much to so many, and given so much pleasure through an unfortunate set of circumstances.
She will be missed, but certainly not forgotten.
RIP Pinga.
