The Enduro World Series has announced its 2016 racing calendar- which doesn’t include a Scottish round at Peebles.
Peebles has been a fixture of the Enduro World Series for two years now and it was the only ews event in Britain. New Zealand and Spain will also miss out next season.
Tweedlove’s’ Neil Dalgleish gave us his thoughts on the decision:
“First off, huge congratulations to all those venues hosting the EWS next year. We’re proud to have staged the event two years in a row, and I hope we’ve shown that we can deliver a world class event.
“We’re already working hard to try and bring it back here in 2017 or as soon as we can, but we need to do some important foundation-laying work first.
“We’re talking with the relevant public funding bodies and putting together a strong package for potential bike industry or other commercial sponsors. Without these relationships in place it’s just not possible to stage an event of this scale, and our firm intention is to bring the EWS back to the Tweed Valley – but even better and stronger than before,” he added.
“With the right relationships in place we can put on as good a show as anywhere, and we want to do Scotland and the UK proud.
“TweedLove was a very happening bike festival before the EWS came (that’s why they chose us in the first place!) and next year it will be stuffed to bursting with a ton of great bike events… including an epic enduro of course, so folk will still be able to enjoy the awesome trails and race vibe – more details in due course!”
Next year’s season will see the finest enduro riders take to three continents, which includes four new venues in Chile, Argentina, France and USA.

Round Two – April 2/3 – Bariloche, Argentina:
