Big Dog 2015 – round up video

by 2

For most mountain bikers the Brighton area is probably better known for the South Downs Way. But there is a vibrant, lively mountain biking scene in the area. Yeah it doesn’t have the altitude and mountains of the Lake District or North Wales; it does have a criss cross network of trails that are fast, flowing, and often in some pretty tight trees.

For those that haven’t heard of the Big Dog. It’s a not for profit, six hour race that is organised and run by volunteers. A yearly race that started in the summer of 2009. This year you could enter as a solo, pairs or team of three. And for the little yabbers there is a Little Dog race.

The 2015 race happened a couple of weekends ago and we’ve just been sent this vid, that sums up nicely the atmosphere that the Dog has.

If you’re keen on your endurance racing, the Big Dog seems like it should definitely be on you race calendar for next year. Come on, it looks like its as much about the party and post ride beers as it is about riding your bike. A win, win in my eyes!

The organisers would like to thank the race sponsors, supports and volunteers for making it happen.

Such a brilliant race, great course, cracking atmosphere and free beer for those that race. Win.

We love putting it on every year and I submitted an application for Saturday 13th August 2016 (subject to Council approval in November 2015).

Thanks for coming – see you next year!
