Marzocchi – distributor speaks!

After the shock news last night that Marzocchi (including MTB) is being liquidated – and the surprise this morning that suggested that the MTB bit might be saved after all, comes a little more detail from Marzocchi distributors for the UK WindWave.

Marzocchi News: As some of you are aware of last night’s press release that lit up the internet from Tenneco and we wanted to clear a few things up.
This morning we have spoken directly to the factory and I can confirm the following points.

• Sadly the Marzocchi moto factory in Bologna is now closed.
• Tenneco do indeed have the MTB business for sale.
• MY2016 MTB fork production is going ahead.
• New product for 2016.
• Marzocchi MTB will be at both the EUROBIKE (B1-302) and INTERBIKE shows.
• Race support continues.

Most importantly for our customers and the end consumer regardless to what may or may not happen, all forks and rear shocks sold will continue to be supported with the full WARRANTY and spare parts back up.
More news when we get it.

note: This is not an official communication from Tenneco or Marzocchi

This is clearly encouraging. Warranties are still supported.
Excellent.
And rumours abound that there is a potential buyer in the works, although at present there are no details as to who it might be. But Marzocchi’s presence at EuroBike in a month or so, and the announcement of 2016 models is clearly something to be celebrated.
Fingers crossed, people. Fingers crossed…

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
