The folks at Lindarets have just announced the ReMount, a little bar-end shaped widget designed to reposition your dropper-post remote into a more thumb-friendly format.
The ReMount may look simple, but what you see here is the eighth generation model. Essentially, it takes the standard remote (apart from the RockShox one – Lindarets doesn’t recommend that) and sticks it on its side, to make things more ergonomic, especially if you’re running a 1x drivetrain, although Lindarets assures us it’ll work with front shifters too.
It’s 30mm long so you can find the optimal position for you, and Lindarets claim that “the result is a remote location that leaves more of the hand on the bar and more of the mind on the trail when control and concentration are most critical”.
It’s made in the USofA of Delrin to reduce the likelihood of bar damage in a crash, weighs 20g and you can get them from Lindarets for the princely sum of $19.

There was a chap on the forum offering basically the same thing last week.
I think a an old bar end could be converted….now, where are my old X-lites….
Can it be shortened? Don’t fancy that hitting my legs (or any other part of me) when I crash…
Looks like a nasty knee injury in the making…
Is the central bit made from an old 35mm film canister?
mtbfix,
His look pretty awesome- and the price is fair for a one-off.
bedfordrd.
It can be trimmed- though the dogleg in the pictured Specialized remote exaggerates the length by forcing a pretty high mounting position.
Knee tastic.
