This week, we’re revisiting: D C Cycles
This week we’re heading North, towards the Lakes and stopping off on-route in Ulverston. Last time we dropped by, Dave and Izzi had recently relocated to bigger premises, adding snazzy decor, brought their online businesses together (under one virtual roof) and filled up the fish tank! Izzi serves us the update …
Apart from the obvious… we’re all a year wiser, what’s changed in the last year?
Most importantly D C Cycles has a new shop sign which includes a funky rat riding a bicycle. Our demo bikes have changed, we had a Niner WFO which has just got itself a new home, we also have an incredibly small (Izzi sized!) Jet 9 which has had some very nice finishing touches added to it, such as Hope Pink hubs, rotors and pedals. Oh and we’ve hired a Saturday lad, who’s learning the ropes in our busy workshop.
Tell us more about developments…
This year we’ve added a few new brands to the mix, including Bern and Lazer helmets, which offer choices for the whole family. Honey Stinger has been added to our foodie section with their Waffles (which go nicely with a brew) and energy chews offering different flavours to choose from. We’ve added a few shiny display stands too.
What’s hot in-store?
We love Hope stuff here and both their road and mountain wheels have been very much in demand. With their different rim options and hub colours you can get something that does what you need it too and have it look good. Their T-rex rings are becoming really popular too. Our workshop is also very busy, especially with the good weather bringing folk out to explore.
What bike in the store do you secretly lust after?
Well at the moment we only have a couple of Niner’s in, as we’re more servicing and spare focused but the little Jet 9 demo may have to come home with me. Here’s a Niner WFO we built up a while back …
What brand of tea bags do you use?
Yorkshire Tea at the behest of our Saturday lad. I’ll be honest I drink more coffee (Nescafe Azera or ‘proper’ coffee from the café round the corner) than tea so don’t really have a preference and Dave doesn’t drink hot drinks, but survives just fine on Lucozade.
To find out more, visit our store (in Ulverston), or there’s always plenty of chat over on our Facebook page, or online.
Lastly, what do Singletrack Subscribers get from D C Cycles?
10% off accessories and our workshop when you present your cardy-ma-job.
