Snapper Geoff Waugh on Radio 4 tomorrow

by 3

That makes it 30 minutes of fame for cycling this week: Our favourite toe-deficient photographer is going to be on our favourite R-P inflected radio station tomorrow, as BBC Radio Four turn their attention to snapper Geoff Waugh as part of their ‘Photo Power’ series on leading press photographers.

The 15 minute segment is due to be aired at 3.45pm tomorrow and will follow Geoff during this year’s Alpe d’Huez stage of the Tour de France. It promises to give an insight into what it takes to hang off the back of a motorbike and juggle lenses during the legendary 21 bend final climb of the last Alpine stage in le Tour.

Geoff will also give his insights into the difficulties a photographer faces when the action is spread hundreds of kilometres across the French countryside, plus there will be  snippets from the fans that line the course to see a single glimpse of the riders.

“It’s arms, legs, flags, motorbikes, noise, burning clutches – 250th of a second snippets.”

You can head to the programme website here for more info and if you miss it tomorrow then the programme will be available on the rather handy BBC iPlayer.

In the meantime, here’s Geoff playing the drums:
