The lease for the café at the visitors centre which opened in 2005, expires at the end of this year and the Glyncorrwg Ponds Co-Operative have over the last few weeks been holding in depth discussions with a number of potential operators, as part of the tender evaluation process for the award of a new lease for the Cafe area at the Mountain Bike Centre.
Following submission of Business Plans and presentations by the potential operators a spokesperson for the Co-operative said: “I am pleased to be able to inform you, that Skyline Cycles, who already operate a successful mountain bike business at the centre, will be taking over the lease for the café early in 2010.”
A spokesperson for Skyline Cycles said: “We are delighted to have been successful in our bid to operate the café and to have the opportunity to expand our business further into providing first class services to mountain bikers at Glyncorrwg.
We are looking forward to the challenge of not just maintaining the reputation that the Dropoff has deservedly achieved over the last five years, but the challenge to make it even better.”

After all the protestations on this site last month regarding the cafe’s closure this sounds like a positive step of sorts.
If there’s no massive slabs of Welsh Rarebit on offer, someone might die…..
Good, hope they drop their prices then £5 for a basic breakfast without a cuppa tea = rip off
They or the Co-operative could clean up the toilets/showers they stink out the whole area people may be more inclined to buy food then.
