It may not be sexy and you’ll probably never have to use it but this metalised polyester based survival bag should be on your list of things to carry on a ride. Weighing a mere 85 grammes, you’ll only ever use it when things go seriously Pete Tong. However, with the ability to reflect over 90% of your body heat, it could save your life. Having used one to reflect sunlight to attract a mountain rescue helicopter to our position when a friend broke his pelvis then using it to keep him warm, I can vouch that it works and works well.
Overall: It’s cheap, light and packs down small. Nuff said.
