The Press Release in full…

Extreme weather conditions have hit most of the country this week with more approaching.  Due to the severity of the weather we have been advised by the Forestry Commission at Glyncorrwyg that the track has become unsafe for riding.

Giant and Specialized are committed to promoting safe cycling, so it is with regret that we will be postponing the first event of this series.

Health and safety at any of our events takes precedence and we will not expose anyone to dangerous riding conditions.

We can confirm that we are already reviewing alternate dates for the event to take place, which will be announced later this month.

The remaining venues and dates for the rest of the Test the Best Series 2009 are as follows:

15th February – Cannock Chase, Staffordshire 10:00 – 15:00

8th March – Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire 10:00 – 15:00

29th March – Bedgebury, Kent 10:00 – 15:00

5th April – Carron Valley, Scotland 10:00 – 15:00

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.  If you are out riding this week in the nasty weather please do it safely.

Orange Switch 6er. Stif Squatcher. Schwalbe Magic Mary Purple Addix front. Maxxis DHR II 3C MaxxTerra rear. Coil fan. Ebikes are not evil. I have been a writer for nigh on 20 years, a photographer for 25 years and a mountain biker for 30 years. I have written countless magazine and website features and route guides for the UK mountain bike press, most notably for the esteemed and highly regarded Singletrackworld. Although I am a Lancastrian, I freely admit that West Yorkshire is my favourite place to ride. Rarely a week goes by without me riding and exploring the South Pennines.
