this is the closest ive got so far
was scary as fook, hub deep in water on top of the peaks just one hand off the bars, but it was a rocky trail underneath!
im at the rough ride this weekend, will be a challenge
I think I get the meaning of the word Panda but can someone explain where it comes from and why it is used for self taken pics on bikes? Cheers : )

I usually struggle at these, but I did manage to catch this rather relaxed danger-panda a month or so back - it's a bit more casual than you two up there tho' ^

Why are these called "pandas?" Well, ya see, there's this rad chick who goes by the name faster panda kill kill. She takes rad self-portraits while riding her bike. They are so rad, in fact, that a group was formed to record similar self-portraits cuz, really, just about anyone who has a camera and rides bikes also takes these self-portraits.
the usual panda being a self pic taken on a bike, the danger panda has evolved due to the nature of riding no hands whilst not looking where you are going
extra kudos for off road versions!
OCB has the best beard ever
OCB looks very much like one of my Uni lecturers, the beard is spectacular.
I take it a backward facing helmet cam mounted on the bars isn't within the spirit of the competition.

Well, I spent most of this afternoons ride trying to pull this off, and the best I managed was this rather poor showing. It's hard to work out on account of the gloom, but, scouts honour, I am actually riding the bike here.
It's ok until you try the looking up bit, then it all goes to pot.
Note that the beard has gone a bit swooshy here, it does that on the bike when it's this length - but I'll grow on past it (as long as I don't have any bonfire related 'incidents' when I'm clearing the garden, which is what accounted for months worth of growth about this time last year).
It looks a bit less odd in this shot (also from this afternoon).
EDIT: revised photo uploaded now, with the levels boosted way up past sensible.

You want fear - try this failed attempt where I had to wrestle control back to avoid disaster.
I dunno why that bike doesn't hold a decent line, it's about 10 foot long. It's a 1992 Kona with 29er P2's on it (and a 26 inch wheel), so it's not exactly got steep, nervous angles on it, quite the opposite in fact.
On Flickr I am a longer version of whom I am here ... (linky), but I 'spect you have found me in the Panda pool by now (err, tho' that sounds a bit sordid).
A few attempts whilst out on my Ute today but this was the closest half decent one!...
the "double hander" can be fun

It's a fail for me! I think the Zion might have been the wrong choice of bike as it heads straight for the hedge as soon as both hands are off the bars.
Tried for some video footage as well, and you do see me "no-hands" at the end of this clip:
I am sooooo bad at this. There's going to be an accident.
