I’m in the process of renewing our home insurance, and looking to include bikes. Should I be concerned about some policies reducing any payment made due to wear and tear and how much do they normally reduce by (percentage)?

I would be – very hard to replace what you have with something second hand easily.

Well they were about the cheapest for me. They do a discount for your 1st year though so not so good after that.
