Ok admittedly I haven’t looked closely but I wiped a few teeth of the 36T big ring on the crank, ordered a new one & the bolts are covered by neat little covers that must either slide on some how or have a tiny screw from the back securing them to the crank arm??? to then allow me to access the four chain ring bolts, Help !! as I don’t ant to ruin them forcing them of.

    Cheers Mark

PS I know I should go 1×10 but my legs are getting on a bit now.

Funny enough I did this job last night.
    A real easy job.

Take the full crank out and from he other side you need to take the baby dog off and then you can just undo the big dog. Basically those covers are a fancy nut.
You just need a torx set to fit the bolts which fasten the cogs on.

    Thanks Eddie

Saves me from forcing them of from the outside, so there is a torx holding them on huh, shimano engineering ! I’ve had nearly two years out of the drive train 2×10 on my Bronson & just replaced the chain but I meticulously clean the bike after every ride.
