Does the bottom bracket need a new tool to fit and does it come with the cranks? I’d picked up on a preview article that the bottom bracket design was different but this was pre release.

I recently got an xtr bb (not m9000) and that was a smaller diameter than normal but it came with an adapter so it was no bother. Not sure if it’ll be the same with m8000 stuff though.

Thats what the article mentioned, that it appeared similar to the new XTR which as you say came with an adapter, but they weren’t sure if this would be the case with M8000.

If it’s the same as road b/bs, they come with a plastic adaptor that fits inside your tool.

No BB with the cranks. Very easy to fit.
