Am I right in thinking that on the latest XT cassettes, all of the sprockets are mounted on to a carrier apart from the smallest two and that these carriers stop the sprockets from damaging freehub bodies?

my XT cassette – 6 months old – has I think 3 or I think 4 loose sprockets with the rest on an alloy carrier – the smaller ones still damage my hope freehub abit though!

agree with foxyrider – still get some damage – can use a file to get worst removed thou…

Top 3 sprockets are loose, just had to take mine off after discovering I'd bust a spoke at Gisburn last night.
