Had a crash at the weekend, and for some reason the rear brake lever will not spring back now after applying it, and the rear brake stays on. If I push it out again, the break releases fine. Any thoughts?

On another note, I can’t believe I’ve cracked a couple of ribs at what was going to be a very busy biking time for me. 🙁

Shimano just sell replacement levers so don’t waste much time looking for solutions

Fried had this (didn’t happen in a crash) and it was replaced free, seems the spring in the lever can go awry. I’ve done it myself in a crash, and binned the lever, it was a few years old.

Just been reading about similar issues after crashes, and the school of thought is that your shifter can get pushed up hard against your brake lever not allowing the pivot underneath to move. May be the case.
