    Thanks Yak. I thought that may be case with B Screw, will pop it in the stand tonight and have a play.

    Shimano do make a 36t chainring in XTR I have one on the Scale. I made a video of my second 1×11 conversion on the fatbike. This is also 42t XT cassette and also zero problems. Just needs to be set up correctly as per Shimano manual.

    Wound the B screw a bit and tried on first ride at weekend. Perfect shifting and gearing seemed low enough. Overall quite like it, though don’t really see the advantage over my 2×10 xt on hardtail.
