New to the world of dropper posts, got a 125mm hilo on the new bike.
Now even at pressure, 25psi as recommended, there is about 2/3mm vertical movement in the post and the black anodising has discoloured. Its like its worn away but you can’t feel a ridge.

is a bit of vertical play normal? and is this “wear” normal.
the shop have said if I’m worried i can get it sent back, which i’ll probably do. Anyone else seen this though?

Sounds like it needs a bit more oil. If its still under warranty send it back to be serviced. Mines been back for a similar problem one so far and will be going again soon.

Wish Thomson would hurry up with their 27.2 dropper so I can get rid of the hilo

Have you tried depressing the post, then pulling the post to full extension, then pushing the lever?

Does that make sense? If you do it right you’ll hear a wooshing noise.

You may have oil in the wrong chamber and this sorts it.

If it creeps down, you have sent it off to be warrantied.

Mine did the creeping down thing, so I sent it back, the 2nd one has been faultless thus far. [touches wooden object]
