One of my two-year-old V12 pedals started making an unholy racket today. Obviously, I’ll try to fix it by taking out the axle and giving it a bit of TLC, but if the bearings are knacked is it actually worth replacing them and the bushings?

Kits with all the necessary are about 20 quid, brand new pedal set can be had for £40. Plus it looks like a bit of a PITA to get the old bushings out.

Am I going to bitterly regret trying to renovate the old ones once the bodging starts?

I tried a few years ago and found that I had to drill the Bushings out, bit sketchy if you haven’t got a decent drill. The outboard bearings can be found cheaper, although if the axle has worn, that’s another thing to buy. I personally rate the V8s over the V12, just because they’re a lot easier to service.

The brand new v12 are thinner (16mm against 25mm) so might be a worthier investment?

New V12’s are great, no noticeable difference to The Nano’s they replaced.
