24 mile loop around and up the Howgills, the Bowderdale descent was a blast even though i forgot my spd shoes and rode in flimsy trainers!

Lack of riding – too many ‘kid’ things on 🙁
But the garden is tidy, and the jam is superb, tree’s were climbed and hills walked…

Last time I did tHAT ride last year I nearly died!!
Not sure if it was the heat or the warm chicken pie in Sedburgh but the climb thereafter was a severe problem!!!!!!!!
One of my fav routes btw.
Tjnr did a 28ml run over that route this year 😯

I’ll post a few Greek ones in the next day or two, if I can motivate myself – to post photos, that is, not to ride. The riding is superb and I’ve cleared and ridden a few monopatia, where, I would bet my life, no bike has ever been before.
First time in my life that I’ve not considered going out without knee pads. Troy Lee 5400’s if anyone’s interested – pretty much unnoticeable, even in 30+ temperatures….
Does this seem like random rambling? Blame ultra cheap wine at “H Mouries “in Platsa.

More preparation for riding than actual riding. A spot of autumnal trailbuilding…

Spied a potential gap on an old unused line

    with a fairly overgrown landing

    that got cleared

and magically got turned into a stepdown with a swoopy chicken winter line

Big double on the stepdown line is next on the list and the two lines will join up, ready for action.

@Simon: Nice pics, are those taken by cadair idris in wales by any chance? The landscape looks very similar to that area.

    JRA on my Vaya.

Nice, traditional ‘MTB’ kinda outing on Saturday – through the woods, along some greenlanes / farm-tracks, back-country lanes, a bit of main road here and there.

Consigned to the (new to me) cx bike this weekend due to a severe lack of free time just at the minute. Still managed to squeeze in 40 miles of local tracks with a little bit of road chucked in for good measure. Easily the cheapest bike I’ve ridden in 10 years and all the more fun for it.

And that is real genuine post-ride dust right there. In October!

First ride on my new (and first) build up at Gisburn, nothing fell off the bike which is a win in my book.

Last weekend the bike was just for the ride in. This has become a rare thing as usually I choose a mountain that is mostly rideable. I’m pretty accustomed to carrying a bike uphill but no longer used to walking down. This has been made apparent by the fact that my legs still ache form it four days later. It was a lot of downhill though. Warm sun, frosty shadows, lingering mist – very autumnal. Ben Lui:
