    Its a deactivated virgin socket.
Previously, when I’ve cancelled my cable tv subs, I was still able to get terrestrial channels without any box or device but now nothing but snowstorm… so ,will a freesat box work?
    Cheers

Freesat box needs a connection to a dish. Plugging into your cable socket won’t work.

Doesn’t cable tv come from a dish at tother end though?

Some of it does, it’s then re-modulated, equalised and amplified before being sent via the cable infrastructure.
