In a serendipitous thread crossover i’d like to mention that some homeopaths recommend HOT water for a burn, or holding it over a candle 😯

Ouch, steam burns hurt! Heres one of mine from September, leg was worse. I couldn’t get to water so it was a mile walk then drive so prob a good 1.5hrs till I go to hospital. Very painful, but you can barely see the arm one but the thigh is scarred still.

I once burnt my arm badly whilst on a ward.. an African nurse working there suggested I rub butter and salt into it to help it heal….
    Hmm…..

Do not use ice or iced water on burns. The extreme cold causes constriction of the blood vessels and can worsen injury by reducing blood supply
Running cold water 10-15 mins you want to stop burning process
    Remove any jewellery
No ointments, creams etc as will retain the heat
Lay a couple of layers of cling film on burn, discard first couple of sheets ,do not wrap around limb as will reduce blood supply to peripheries ,secure cling film with bandage,if you don’t have cling film use wet dressings
    Don’t burst blisters
    Paracetamol or briefness for pain
If in doubt go to minor injuries not a/e
