If i buy wider bars does that mean that i will need to shift my seat forwards a touch?
Just thinking that as my arms will be set wider that will shift my weight forwards or am i totally wrong?

shorter stem might make more sense than moving your seat?

Seat position should be set so your knee is above your pedal axle, irrespective of bar width.

As above, shorter stem is more sensible, if required.

No it makes your effective reach longer which pulls your weight down and forwards assuming your saddle remains where it is. To begin with leave everything else as is and see how they feel.

You may also want to play with stem height. Mine are 810 wide – short stem and quite low height. It helps me put weight on the front when cornering.
