Oval (34_30) and a 22t granny, front mech to shift. Nit a stealth granny.

Will it work or destroy a chain.

A NW won’t shift, that’s the whole point of them.

No shifty. But a few of us have, at various times, run them with a granny and no front mech. For those few times when you have nothing left in the tank and the hill just never ends, simply stop and manually drop the chain to granny and ride on. If I go bike-packing I will bolt on a granny as a get me out of jail free card.

I have the same setup. Granny ring but no mech, I rarely use it but its great to have when your legs or lungs malfunction.

It also catches the chain if you are lucky in the unlucky situation that narrow wide lets you down.

I leave the stealth granny on then.
