Just been for a #2 and was upset because the seat was warm as I sat down. I actually grimaced and thought "oh noooooo." But I know that if I sit on a cool toilet seat, it's only because it's not been used for a bit - not because it's never been used before!
Why do we find a "just used" seat so bad?
I prefer a warm one...as long as it's not wet!

A bit like getting into a cool bed, it feels clean regardless of last night shenanigans. 
For some, It's as close as another mans genitalia will come to your backside, some men are more comfortable with that than others. Perhaps you are in denial of some kind?

Warm is okay but sometimes people leave in haste, forget to flush. Other times, there are residual remnants. I like a fresh bowl.

During winter I pay someone to sit on the seat for a few minutes so as to warm it up a little.

Well it could be worse, the last place I worked at there was a regular "abuser" who I assume regularly consumed small portions of dynamite the night before, judging by his "scatter patterns". Urgh.

I should have made it clear in my OP that I was referring to the toilets at work. I don't mind at home if the seat's warm - in fact it's nice.
I'd rather have warmth than footprints...
