Trying to fit new pads to my old Formula The One rear brake.
I can’t push the pistons far enough apart to make space for the new pads and the disc.
    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Brakes are overfilled and need a bleed.

you need to release some fluid from the system, undo the bleed at lever (making sure it’s at the top) push the pistons in redo up the bleed valve and wipe away any fluid.

Check for traces of brake fluid on the master cylinder, on the inside of the clamp. If you pushed hard enough, there is a possibility DOT fluid seeped around the reservoir bladder.

    All sorted now.
Managed to get the cheese-headed pad retaining bolt in and out one more time!

^^^make your own shimano style split pin, it’s only there to stop them falling out.
