Was looking for some new bars, and noticed something.

DH Bars are around 340g and XC bars are around 400-600g

    Doesn’t make any sense.

Same reason that dh bikes have shorter travel than xc race bikes.

I got it, he’s looking at energy bars.

DH ones are smaller as you only ride downhill.

XC ones are bigger as you need energy for climbs too.

Because XC lads like climbing to hurt

Extra weight at the front to keep the front wheel down when climbing.

Everyone knows the more suspension you have, the smaller your ‘bar’ is. That being said I didn’t know people weighed them…

You should go for Enduro bars!

Maybe the 400-600g included the bar ends?

XC Bars were probably one piece bar stem combo loaded with shifters, brakes and grips.

Maybe they included a set of Profile Durangos….

I had a pair of these.

Would love to know where the OP was looking and what time of the morning it was and what he had partaken in the night before etc.
