Plenty of variation there, though not much mention of Track considering the UK is where it's at right now.
So I guess my Racing Post threads are going to go a little quiet after Christmas.

Maybe a couple of xc races if i can find a class slow enough. Possibly a couple of bmx regionals if i manage to get any track time in this winter/spring.

Blenheim Tri and London Rat Race are what I've signed up for. Would really like to get up to the STW weekender too.

Oh god I'd love to race again, bit two young uns and self employed in this financial climate = little spare time for the selfish hours in the saddle necessary. Family first at the mo'.

I'd like to do some road events next year for the first time. Whats the best way of seeing whats on and getting involved?

After doing a couple of low level TLI races this year I'll be getting a license and doing a few 3rd/4th cat road races, and try to make all of the Cotswold league races. Road racing is just so much more fun than XC racing in my opinion - more challenging, more to think about, more terrifying/rewarding, harder work. Roads for racing, mtb for fun. Although I do quite like the big mtb 'events', so I'll probably do a few enduros and the bristol bikefest. New baby means I'm likely to be less fit than this year though.
Sportives don't really count as racing, but I may try and do the 3 day Tour of Wessex again this year, which was brilliant last year, and I went pretty well (7th in a non-competitive event, woohoo. Unlikely to repeat that).

Mcboo - try and find your local TLI handicap series for a good introduction to road racing. You don't need a license, and they give slower riders (like me) a headstart! Still gives you a feel for real racing though, and you'll get a shock when you see how quick the scratch group go through...

not sure I want to get into racing as such.....more big days out on the bike (sportive?) building up to the Marmotte. Prob do the Dragon with a mate who did it last year and loved it.

@Mcboo you could jump into some reliablity trials, though the guys you meet there won't be racing the trial you'll get a feel for the sort of guys you'll be up against.
I tried getting back into it in 2008, but chose crits and they were mental mental chicken oriental fast, basically a bunch TT so avoid.Posted 2 years ago # -
I want to do too much. I'd really like to race SDA downhill and SXC, but a lot of the races clash. I enjoyed the couple of NPS XC races I did last year, so I might have a bash at the more Northern ones of those. I really wanted to do the Mega again this year and see if I could better my 26th place, but I can't afford it, so roll on 2011 for that one.
Definites will be The Strathpuffer solo, as many SXCs as I can fit in. The Alastair Lees Memorial TT at Innerliethen, The Three Tens No Fuss Enduro series. The DH Enduro, Keilder Avalanche if they do it this year, The Ae one if they don't, The British Champs XC, The Tour De Ben Nevis (a new No Fuss Event) and Possibly the Keilder 100. I'm hoping I won't get a virus like I did last year and not be able to train properly for the middle of the year.
I'd really like to actually win a race myself rather than win as a team or pair, come 2nd or 3rd (not that I;m not pleased to win as part of a team you understand, but I'd like to feel I'd "done it myself" sometime. I'm looking forward to the season

My winter training has kicked off and so far ive not been on the bike for ages.
Going to do my local series again, and I would like to solo D2D again as I have unfinished buisness there after my last try in 06 and the little mental breakdown I suffered at the halfway point.

Aston DH series
and maybe the megavalanche and mountain of hell too if i can afford it/ beat some mates and more importantly get permission from the missus into it

I want to get a sub 6hr time in the Dragon ride next year, then do well again in Bristol 12 solo followed by a another Loooooooong adventure ride, then Torq12 solo, Cheddar if I'm recovered and then Relentless 24 solo (or Moab) to finish off.
Then cheese and wine, sleep, repeat.
There will be a fair bit of xc racing, too, coz I'm pants at it. Must go quicker!

So far:
Solo entires: Puffer, 10Under, 10@Moray, Relentless.
Sportives : Bealach Beag, Cairngorm100, Ullapool.
(Not cheap! Racing 2010 will cost me a small fortune
)

Plans are:
Puffer quads (training going really well )
SXC Vets - aiming for all 7 and better than mid-table finishes
Kielder 100 - aim is around 10 1/2 hours or even sub 10 if the conditions are good.
Three 10s, probably in pairs as usual. A podium would be nice, having missed one by 8 seconds this year.
Tour de Ben Nevis sounds like a cracker tooI can do ok in enduros through sheer bloody-mindedness but I need more speed for the shorter races. Fitness has dropped off a lot recently due to post-Transalp apathy and colds.
Hell, I might even buy a road bike...

i will do all the xc events i can fit in. gorricks/sxc some nps. set 2 rise then mayhem/bontrager/sleepless/
entered kielder already and thinking about trans germany ...
i will be in a bright green mule bar kit !

I shall be doing the SXC Series and possibly some Gorrick and the Kielder 100, that is assuming my knee sorts itself out and I get my fitness back to a reasonable level
