    I’m in the don’t get it camp (unless you offer something unusual, interesting or insightful). I fall asleep when people I know tell me about the holidays they took, I’d fooking die if I had to read about one of you nerds going for a ride in the bloody woods.

    Serious question….do you buy and/or read any MTB mags? Some of my favourite blogs make much better and more relevant reading than any og the mags I’ve seen.

    i actually like reading blogs. feels more personal and real than a mag if that makes sense. that coming from me who never reads books etc 🙂

    Click my Name ^^

    Just a diary of oour rides. I did it to look back on in later life and remember the good times. I ride with a lot of guys who also like to read it too… just good memories.

    I do.

    That said, I am really bad at keeping it anything like updated. However, I did post fairly recently on a Mountain Bike Instructor Course I was running in the Greek Islands. Back to the reality of a wet Rivington now though.

    My reasons for writing are similar to beckykirk, samuri and lowey

    I originally created my blog as a kind of ride / climb diary. I knew that I was to undergo surgery on a double hernia which was going to seriously screw up my outdoor lifestyle for a good few months so it was mainly about putting my fears, personal triumphs and goals “on paper”, so that I could hopefully look back and see how far I’d come on my journey. Imagine my surprise then, when I looked at the stats to see that people were actually reading it! I can see why some people would find it either boring or egotistical, but it isn’t like I’m twisting anyone’s arm to read it.

    So far thanks to this post I’ve found some more great blogs to read.

    Keeping things up to date is not an issue, its posting too often that gets me

    Well I reckon that unless your blog is like ropebondage on Tumblr then those reading are probably those you’d rather didn’t;

    Shameless thread resurrection to promote your own blog, how did you think you could get away with that?

    Yes, at various stages there have been various blogs. Some have fallen by the wayside-

    and the one that kind of kept going through all the changes-

    I really enjoy reading blogs, they always seem so much more engaging.

    I do. like lowey its pretty much a way of recording what I did and a good place to put all my pics and wee films etc to share with friends and users of various different forums. it can be quite good looking bach over what I’ve been up to and it gives some folk a laugh. Also keeps me motivated to get out taking photos and stuff. Its pretty much bike (motor and pedal) orientated with the occasional food and drink bit chucked in.
    Check it out here and let me know what you think.
