Jim Broadbent in my mind is one of the finest actors we have, but the number one actor we have for sheer presence I’d have to say John Simm.

    Who are yours, and why?

The guy who plays the consultant in Casualty – you know – who had the gambling problem – no, it was Holby City. Same difference. Anyway, yes, that guy. I always feel like he could go on to be a screen legend.

I saw Jean Luc Picard and Gandalf together in Waiting For Godot last year. They were superb.

Must be the finest of British actoors. Plenty of spit flying that night.

Paul McGann is brilliant. Not in enough films imo.

I’d extend that to all the McGann brothers. Hollywood should come up with a vehicle for their talent.

I feel full of verse, rhyme and song when I see those beauts. Such delight, such life, such joue a vie. I could run amok, ney romp merrily through their creases, their expanse, their sheer bulk and touch.

Err no, Brian Cox the bad guy in X-Men and the Bourne films. Saw Sir Ian Mckellen and Sir Patrick Stewart in Waitng For Godot as well. Mackellen blew Stewart off the stage (no, not like that you filthy boy)

What, no Richard E Grant ?

He was, I think, in one of the Star Wars films. Whether that bestows legendary status, I’m not sure.

Ray Winston surely … as long as you’re looking for an east-end villain of course.

Seriously – Ben Kingsley (FOR : Sexy Beast, Ghandi AGAINST : a number of complete shockers).

Ralph Fiennes has put in some cracking performances.
