I bought a new 2010 Kona Paddy Wagon off ebay for £350 last month. Use it as my daily commuter in Edinburgh, love it to bits. Not too heavy IMO but my previous commuter was a hacked Spesh Hardrock SS so quite a bit of weight saving for me with the Paddy Wagon. And the price was a bargain compared to the cost of modern SS bikes.

And I love the colour scheme 😀

Wiggle have some reasonable deals on 2010 Giant Bowery 72’s and FMX’s. Both have aluminium frames, modern compact geometry, available in small sizes but alas not carbon forked.

From your shortlist – the Trek, because you are already emotionally attached to the colour scheme 8) . I’d still get the Kona, but then we have three in the stable already.

I have a Langster from 2010 – the black, understated one. If you could pick one up in your size I reckon that wouls fit the bill perfectly.
