I’m just finishing building up an iron horse mk3 but the current shock, 5th element air, is dead and needs replacing. I’m going to be using the bike for general trail riding but also some 4X and jumping as it’s replacing my hardcore hardtail as my ankles are too weak for a hardtail.

I’m not particularly worried about weight so am in two minds whether to go down the coil or air route. There are a few coil manitou swingers going cheap on crc that’d fit and would allow a custom valving down the road, however I should be able to get a deal on one of the new RS monarch shocks. What are people’s opinions on coil vs air in the mk3?
