    Advice on which is the better of these two would be much appreciated 🙂

    Shimano M771 26-36-48
    Shimano M770 22-32-44

    Depends on what you mean by better. One is for MTB, one if for hybrid / touring use. The 770 comes with a composite middle ring, the 771 has an alloy.

    they're the same, so neither is better than the other.
    Different chainrings ones more roadie like and one will get you up hills.

    Well it really depends on what ratios you need. I would suggest if you ride off-road to go for a 'normal' 22-32-44. If you plan to do lots of road riding then the other may be better (for the bigger top gear).

    I think the M771 is for an 83mm bb shell as well. That might affect things??
