I have a “VR Box” which can be had for £8-15 from the usual suspects.

    Good points:
    – adjustable focus and inter-pupil distance
    – takes a wide range of phones
    – has gaps to allow headphones to be attached
    – fairly comfortable to wear

    Bad points:
    – instructions in Chineselish (but not really needed)
    – no proper Cardboard QR tag for it (but the defaults seem to work reasonably well and some folk have done their own – see link)
    – no button to activate things, but YouTube lets you play stuff by just staring at the Play button so that works ok.
    – adjustments are a bit wobbly.
    – can’t take smaller phones (e.g. iPhone 4/SE etc)

Bought a ‘Goji VR’ from carphone warehouse in ny sale for a belated xmas gift. Has a magnet/action button and a sticky back. Most importantly you can adjust the lenses in/outboard on the fly. Was well received, works fine* and is comfortable. Paid £13 which they claimed was ‘less than half price’ but now is £15 standard price. Scamps!

No place to poke a headphone cable but user has bluetooth
