  • Where's the best place to get a kitten from?

Hi all – we’re after a kitten. Not too sure where to go? We’re not bothered if it’s a pedagree or not, but are after something playful that will take care of any mice should they appear in the house.

Not really sure how you tell if a kitten will be a good hunter or not, so we may fall back on just being cute.

Where is the best place to go to find one? We’re in Woking.

pets4homes is usually a good place for animals or the local cat rescue place, which is where we got our second hand cats from. We have the cats protection league in Curridge which our nearest , although we got one of ours from Basingstoke.

Ewan, we got our 2 via a rescue centre in Cobham. Sorry can’t remember the name. I can probably find it if you need it. They put us in touch with a lady in Sunbury who looked after homeless kittens.

We tried the RSCPA centre in Chobham, but they would only let us have cats if we were in all day…

Your local cat rescue will have plenty of kittens for you to choose from, maybe a bit later in the year, though.
If you’re shopping for a kitten, they’re all cute. Fact.

I thought all you did was nick other people’s cats by offering them posh food……bit like finding a £5 note, finders keepers and all that..

Gumtree. Go to the vet the same day you collect it.

Send your kid out on the street and have them wait for a bloke in a car to pull up saying “would you like to see a kitten?”

… though you might never see your kid again, and he may not actually have a kitten.

(plus it used to be puppies)

+1, where we got our two from…

Plus they’re normally overrun with pregnant strays.

top kitten advice… pick it up and hold it upside down, how it reacts tells you a lot about what sort of cat it is. the most calm, loving ones just snuggle in and lie there. spitfires rip your hands off.

Where the heck did you get that info from. It’s silly.

Blimey. We went to the RSPCA centre at Milbank, apparently kittens are normally gone the same day – it’s worse than the property market!

Anyone want to flog me a kitten? 😀
