http://www.roofbox.co.uk - cheap prices, all the kit you need, and very fast delivery. I always use Thule...you know that the stuff holding your bikes to the roof is quality, not some POS thats gonna break off at the first gust of wind.

Another vote for roofbox, their deals represent good value.
If you are a CTC member, you can get a discount too - but not on their package deals.

I'd try to get manufacturer bars for your car off ebay. I have ford bars on my old mondeo and they're a world less hassle than thule/halfords bars due to less need for adjustability.
Halfords had/have 1/2 price on roofboxes

As another alternative, I've always found roofracks.co.uk to be really helpful, too.

Bemused by this as don't find there's any 'adjustability' involved.

Place in Livingston called The Roof Rack Shop - http://www.roofrackshop.co.uk/ - found them to be very quick delivery and often a few quid cheaper than other places. Quick at responding to any queries as well.

If memory serves, I think that the current Ford bars are just Thule bars with a different badge.

the old thule bars I had on my volvo were a faff, and due to the bar shape/clamp design you had to unwind the clamp, then where the clamp sat on the roof, each time you used it. they might be different now
by comparison, the ford bars I use on the mondeo just drop straight on, clamp up, done. they were also cheaper (2nd hand) than the equivilent thules.
